Both Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders assess meeting in Vienna positive: Armenia’s PM urges not to search for winners and losers
No winners and losers should be searched in our meeting with Aliyev, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated in live video on Facebook.
“This should be the logic if we really want settlement of the issue,” he said.
The premier stressed that this is the new approach that brings to the table of negotiations.
“It is a very strange situation when the leaders of the two countries are having a meeting lasting for hours and comments differing from one another come and this really puts its seriousness under doubt,” Pashinyan stated.
“Both me and the president of Azerbaijan assessed the meeting as positive. The same was done by the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairs,” Pashinyan said.
The premier noted that no revolution took place in the negotiation process but he assesses it as positive.
“We had an opportunity to discuss the agenda. I have offered not to search for winners and losers,” he stressed.
Pashinyan said that the conversation must take place in healthy conditions based on mutual respect.
He also added that the statements voiced from the Azerbaijani side after the meeting lack any logic.
“Here we have a problem of old and new perceptions. The situation is when after the process the parties are trying to make statements implying that they succeeded to make the opposite side fail in some issues,” he said.
