Armenia must be ready both for peace and war as the choice is not ours: Armen Ashotyan
Today is not a day to discuss domestic political agenda, vice chairman of the Republican party Armen Ashotyan said in Yerablur Military Pantheon today.
“Today I do not want to refer to domestic political agenda. It is neither appropriate day for it nor the place. I want to remind you that this day is a day of unprecedented national unity, the whole nation consolidated over the army,” Ashotyan said.
Referring to the statement of Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev that the war has not ended, Ashotyan said, “The Azerbaijani president is known for his dual diplomacy – his domestic agenda differs from the foreign one which he shows to Minsk Group co-chairs. Sometimes and which is the most dangerous these agenda combine like it happened three years ago on April 2. This agenda coincided and we must be concerned of it and be ready for war. We must wish peace but be ready for war too.”
“We must be ready both for peace and for war because the choice is not ours, no Armenian wanted and will want war. And if God forbid war breaks during the supreme commandership of Nikol Pashinyan, naturally, we will put aside political disputes and unite,” Ashotyan stressed.
