War not over yet, just the first phase completed: Aliyev

Azerbaijani position in the Karabakh conflict settlement issue has remained unchanged, Azerbaijani president Ilham Aliyev stated at the visit of defense ministry’s unit of special forces.

“This conflict must be settled within the frameworks of Azerbaijani territorial integrity. The negotiations are aimed at liberation of the Azerbaijani territories,” Aliyev said.

He stressed that the conflict with Armenia has not ended yet. “We are still living in war situation. The war has not ended yet. Just the first phase is over,” Aliyev said.

He also said that the meeting with the Armenian Prime Minister in Vienna was important, including with the regard to “confirmation of the existing format of negotiations.”

“This is a conflict between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The negotiations must pass and do pass between Armenia and Azerbaijan,” the Azerbaijani leader said.
