Four-sided meeting scheduled in Tehran to discuss power and gas transit cooperation
Armenia-Iran-Russia-Georgia meeting on the level of experts is set for April 15-17 in Tehran dedicated to the discussion of the issues on technical solutions to the North-South power corridor initiative, spokesperson of the Armenia’s Energy Infrastructures and Natural Resources Minister Rima Yeganyan told Aysor.am.
She said from April 29 to May 1 session of the North-South power corridor initiative coordinating council will be held in Tehran with the participation of deputy ministers of the four countries.
The results and proposals voiced during the meeting-discussion will be presented at the ministerial meeting in Tehran on June 16-18 after which the further steps and works for the implementation of the project will be specified.
Asked whether the Armenian side has worked out a clear agenda ahead of the meeting, the spokesperson said at the meeting the Armenian side will present the works addressed to the regional integration and trade in the energy sector, technical solutions and a number of other technical issues relating the infrastructures which correspond to the policy conducted by Armenia in the energy sector.
PM’s spokesperson Vladimir Karapetyan said a month ago that the Iranian side has offered Armenia to start energy and gas transit cooperation with Georgia and Russia. He said an arrangement has been reached on conduction of four-sided meeting in April.
