Recognition of each others’ armed forces as terrorist groups by USA and Iran to result in unfavorable actions: expert

The intention of the Iranian side to recognize the U.S. armed forces as terrorist organization is another manifestation of regular psychological war between Iran and the USA in the propaganda domain, expert in Iranian sciences Vardan Voskanyan told Aysor.am.

“The United States and Iran are confronting each other and if the United States recognizes the Iranian allied forces in the Middle East, Hezbollah in particular, as terrorist organization, the Iranians on their part undertake response steps in the propaganda domain,” Voskanyan said, adding that such positions voiced by the parties do not play any role in other political platforms.

Referring to the statement of the Iranian official that if the Americans add the corpus of the Islamic Revolution protectors in the list of terrorists, this bill will be adopted by the Iranian parliament in the shortest period of time, Voskanyan said the statement contains threat.

“It is obvious that the statement contains certain threat as it is being spoken about the initiative on recognizing the corpus of protectors of the Islamic Revolution as terrorist organization and naturally, the Iranians must voice symmetric response to such position of the United States,” Voskanyan said.

The expert said that though this U.S.-Iranian conflict is in the domain of propaganda war, it may have some consequences as well.

“If the parties recognize each others’ armed forces or different divisions of armed forces terrorist ones, certain actions may follow it and in particular the situation in the Middle East will become noticeably tensed which does not stem from the interests of our state if to consider the high level relations between Armenia and Iran and partnership with the United States,” Voskanyan said.
