Investment programs grow or reduce in number agreed with investors’ recalculations
During his last press conference Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated that 89 investment programs totaling 2,7 billion USD are being discussed with the government.
Speaking to Aysor.am, official from Economic Development and Investments Ministry said that the mentioned investment programs are presented both by foreign and local investors.
“The foreign investors, including Diaspora Armenians have presented over 50 programs. They are mainly from Russia, USA, Iran, China, Germany and other countries,” the ministry’s official said.
The investment programs mainly refer to the energy, processing industry, infrastructures, construction, tourism and IT sectors.
The terms of implementation of the programs differ as there are realistic or short-term investment programs, over 40, amounting to 700 million USD as well as those which are in the initial phase of discussion, like the ones on founding plant in Ashtarak for production of solar photo voltage batteries and cells by using newest technologies, construction of solar power plant with 5 megawatt power in Gegharkunik, establishing pharmaceutical and biotechnological laboratory in Yerevan etc.
“The number of investment programs periodically changes, they either grow or reduce agreed with interest of new investors or their recalculations,” the ministry official said.
