Dispute between PAP and ruling power just an episode of showing muscles to each other, not more: political technologist
The dispute between My Step and Prosperous Armenia party will hardly go deeper, political technologist Vigen Hakobyan told Aysor.am, referring to the accusations the two factions address to one another.
“I do not think the dispute will go deeper. In the PAP the political line is being decided personally by Gagik Tsarukyan while in an interview he gave few days ago he stated that he is dissatisfied with My Step team but not with the PM Pashinyan,” the political technologist said, adding that this was the natural continuation of the political line stated by Tsarukyan.
“After the elections Gagik Tsarukyan stated that they will be opposition but will continue supporting Nikol Pashinyan. In other words, this means constructive opposition,” Hakobyan said.
The political technologist did not exclude some disputes between the PAP and the authorities in future as well.
“I think the PAP and Naira Zohrabyan in particular, accused a concrete person in My Step faction. The statements on transgender were perceived by My Step rather emotionally and they have not calmed down yet. But my impression is that the parties will reach a certain line and stop,” Hakobyan said.
Referring to the audit the State Revenue Committee has initiated in Arinj Mall, the expert said this incident fits in the same domain and it is difficult not to see any connection with the case.
“I think at least in this period the parties will keep this strategic line. It is necessary for My Step. The authorities will hardly sharpen the situation to an extent to have a resource opposition,” Hakobyan said, adding that this is just an episode where the parties show muscles to each other.
