PACE tribune sometimes used for provoking wars: Pashinyan
The PACE tribune is sometimes being used for provoking wars, Armenia’s PM Nikol Pashinyan stated at the PACE today.
“I cannot leave unnoticed the circumstance that the discussions that took place here over Nagorno Karabakh conflict in January 2016 created favorable grounds for Azerbaijani armed forces to start attacking activities. I do not want to claim it, but the discussions and the authors of documents became the provokers of war which cost hundreds of lives for Armenia, Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan,” Pashinyan stated.
He stressed that today as well attempts to involve these structures into geopolitical games, conflicts as well as attempts to make states as sides of conflicts are noticed which absolutely contradicts the essence and mission of these establishments.
“It is also necessary to remember that each conflict must be viewed in its own essence and content and making judgments without considering the origin, the causes, the essence and peculiarities means to just play with the lives of the people, with their fate. This is the reason why we considered and consider that exclusively OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship, together with the three conflicting parties is to deal with the Nagorno Karabakh conflict settlement issue, as only this format is aware of the whole history of the conflict, the sensitive issues in the peace process from its very beginning,” Armenia’s PM stated.
He noted that the OSCE Minsk Group format has been set by all the conflicting parties – Nagorno Karabakh, Azerbaijan and Armenia – for establishing platform of dialogue, and now Armenia is undertaking steps to restore the dialogue between Nagorno Karabakh and Azerbaijan.
