It is difficult to choose between friends: Pashinyan on who Crimea belongs to
It is very strange how people use the tribunes intended for peace for provoking wars, making them more cruel, more escalated, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated at the PACE today, asked why Armenia voted against the resolution condemning Russia’s aggression toward Ukraine and who Crimea belongs to.
“I have newly assumed the commitments of leader of the country. I was a lawmaker and it is rather strange for me how people use the tribunes founded for peace for provoking wars, making them crueler, escalated. I think it is necessary to stay in the logic of dialogue in all the cases,” Pashinyan said.
“There is no conflict in the world which will make me think that this conflict must be settled by the usage of force. I believe that international platforms and tribunes must also be used in that logic. We are trying to do everything , I say trying, because I am not sure that we always succeed in it. In many cases we appear in situation when the conflicts involve our friends from all the sides. It is very difficult to make choice between a friend and another friend. Sometimes you have to do it, but our choice, our global choice, is peace, dialogue, stability and development,” the PM stated.
