Claims ascribed to me in regards of October 27 pure provocations: Andranik Kocharyan

Chairman of Defense, Security Affairs Standing Committee Andranik Kocharyan described the claims found in some Azerbaijani mass media that October 27 was organized and carried out by Russian special services with the instruction of Russian president Vladimir Putin as nonsense.

“These are provocations aimed at sowing discord in Armenian-Russian relations. They will not succeed in doing it,” Kocharyan stated at news conference today.

He stressed that he has always addressed the accusations regarding October 27 to Robert Kocharyan as it is still unclear for him what Kocharyan and assassin Nairi Hunanyan talked behind closed doors.

He said the dissemination of such information by some Armenian websites which then appeared in Azerbaijani press targeted not only him, but the Armenian authorities as well.

“The issue relating to country’s security must not be subject for intrigues. If it becomes so, the security services of the country must interfere,” Kocharyan said.

The ruling faction lawmaker noted that there is no response from official Moscow to the publications and expressed opinion that “the official Moscow manages to filter information.”
