Bill on government’s optimization finally reaches Armenia’s parliament
The bill on optimization of the government’s structure discussed for few months has finally reached the parliament. The bill envisages cutting the number of ministries making them 12 out of existing 17. Naturally, it supposes cutting of jobs too.
Briefing on the bill at the State-Legal Affairs Standing Committee justice minister Artak Zeynalyan said that the bill envisages cutting the number of deputy premiers from 3 to 2. Currently the premier already has two deputies though the amendments have not been officially adopted.
“In the phase of reorganization of the ministries political and conceptual posts will be cut – ministers, their deputies, assistants, advisors, spokesperson, secretaries. Their number reaches few dozen,” Zeynalyan said.
The minister said after the ministries are merged the repeating posts will be cut. Zeynalyan said best specialists who will display high qualification will remain in posts.
