In case of grounds, SCS head’s authorities may be temporarily suspended: Artur Davtyan
Armenia’s Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan speaking to reporters today neither confirmed nor rejected information about involvement of State Control Service head Davit Sanasaryan as a suspect in a criminal case.
“The preliminary investigation is underway. Naturally, all hypothesis are being checked. Let me not give you direct answer now, but I promise to provide more detailed information in near future,” the attorney general said, adding that in the interests of preliminary investigation he cannot say anything more.
He said taking into consideration the significance and wide public interest toward the case, necessary information will be provided in proper period of time.
Asked about possibility of temporary suspension of Sanasaryan’s authorities with the decision of the prosecutor till the end of the examination, Davtyan said, “I will respond to this question theoretically: in case of criminal persecution against a public servant and in case of grounds that if continuing his authorities he may impede the examination of the case a prosecutor makes a decision to temporarily suspend his authorities.”
