The state is not accumulating debt: Garegin Baghramyan on gas tariff
Acting energy infrastructures and natural resources minister Garegin Baghramyan refuted information as if the state is accumulating debt regarding the raise of gas tariff on the border but having remained unchanged for the consumers.
“The state is not accumulating debt,” Baghramyan told Aysor.am.
He said Gazprom Armenia has worked out certain proposals on the basis of which the price will be subsidized. The proposals are yet to be discussed with Gazprom.
As to whether the company subsidizes on the account of job cuts in the company, Baghramyan said, “The company has started optimization process in the frameworks of which some inspectors may be cut.”
He also added that the cuts may refer to the management staff too. “The company decides on its own how to act,” the acting minister said.
Baghramyan also said that at the session of Armenian-Russian inter-governmental commission an arrangement has been reached to submit by July 1 draft agreement presenting the gas price formation mechanisms. The agreement will be signed with 5-year term.
