Next meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani FMs may pass in one of OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries: Anna Naghdalyan
The next meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers may pass in one of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairing countries, spokesperson of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Anna Naghdalyan told Aysor.am.
“The opportunity of conducting next meeting in one of the co-chairing countries is really being viewed taking into consideration the geography of previous such like meetings. As far as the issue is still in the phase of discussion, it will be right to refrain from one-sided announcements and public negotiation style,” she said.
Naghdalyan stressed that stating beforehand about the meeting in one of the co-chairing countries is manifestation of disrespectful attitude toward participants of the process and first of all toward the co-chair of the mentioned country.
“The strive to declare yet unagreed arrangement does not contribute to the formation of working atmosphere based on mutual trust,” Naghdalyan stressed.
Earlier Azerbaijani Foreign Minister stated that the United States has offered to conduct the next meeting of the Armenian and Azerbaijani foreign ministers in Washington.
“The recent meeting of the two foreign ministers took place in Moscow at the initiative of the Russian foreign minister Sergey Lavrov. With the doubling of the efforts by Russia a progress may be registered in the Karabakh conflict regulation process. Yesterday we received an invitation from the United States to visit Washington where the Secretary of State will too exert efforts for reaching progress in the Karabakh conflict settlement issue,” Mammadyarov stated.
