Rosatom not against prolongation of Russian loan for modernization of Armenian Nuclear Plant
Rosatom is not against prolonging the Russian loan for the modernization of the Armenian Nuclear Power Plant, general director of Rosatom Service Yevgeni Salkov said at the Atomexpo 2019 international conference in Sochi.
He said that Armenia’s Finance Ministry has already applied to the Russian one with the proposal to prolong the usage of credit resources by the end of 2021, Aysor.am correspondent reports from Sochi.
“The credit means have not been used completely. Though the issue is not to use it all, the important thing is to carry out all the works which will allow to safely exploit the Armenian nuclear plant till 2028,” he said.
Salkov also stated that there are no problems. “The volume fixed at the beginning was envisaged for one calendar year but during the process new issues raised, more detailed plans were worked out the implementation of which goes beyond the 2019,” he noted.
