PAP faction head: Economic Committee chairperson should have been so kind to visit Ararat Cement factory and then make decision
The protest actions have stopped in Ararat Cement factory but discussions over lifting the state fee from clinker still continue at the National Assembly.
Head of the Prosperous Armenia faction speaking to reporters today said that the discussions at the NA’s Economic Affairs Standing Committee continue.
Chairman of the committee Babken Tunyan offered not to set state fee on clinker and set a fee amounting to 22,000 AMD on imported cement with a year term.
The bill was approved at the Committee but has not been discussed at the NA’s session yet.
“Representatives of the factory will come today to meet. We say if the committee has decided to lift fee from clinker we will not produce cement but will import clinker. You give us this opportunity. We do not do anything against the law,” Tsarukyan stated.
Asked whether the chairman of the committee discussed the issue with him and whether an arrangement has been reached, Tsarukyan said, “Tunyan cannot have a dialogue with me, the employees of the whole factory are waiting for him. He should have been so kind to visit the factory and speak with the specialists to understand what cement is and what clinker is and only then make a decision.”
