NSS subordinated to Armenia’s PM by Constitution, demands should be forwarded to right addresses: Marukyan on Sanasaryan’s case

Bright Armenia faction head Edmon Marukyan speaking to reporters today said that he knows Davit Sanasaryan as a person of proper behavior.

“I know Mr Sanasaryan, we were not friends, but I know him as a person with proper behavior. This was too a surprise for us,” Marukyan said, referring to the charges brought against head of State Control Service Davit Sanasaryan.

“I am surprised that all are criticizing NSS chief, at least I saw such campaign in Facebook. It was strange as according to the Armenian Constitution the control over the NSS is implemented by the Prime Minister of the country. I guess the demands are being addressed to a wrong person,” Marukyan said.

As to the comment that without premier’s knowledge the NSS would not have done that, the head of the faction said, “PM’s spokesperson gave the answer to the question, saying that the NSS is subordinated to the head of the government.”

He said he does not think that Sanasaryan is being politically persecuted.

“If it is so we all will voice about it in every possible ways,” Marukyan said.
