Parliament adopts controversial bill on State Fee at first reading
The controversial bill on making amendments in law on State Fee which envisages setting fee on imported cement and lifting the fee from clinker has been approved at the first reading in parliament with 78 for and 42 against votes.
Parliamentary opposition – PAP and Bright Armenia – voted against the bill.
Addressing the parliament Prosperous Armenia faction lawmaker Naira Zohrabyan stated that laws must be discussed thoroughly and only then be voted for.
“You cannot say the law is incomplete, let’s vote for it and then think what we can do. We respect the legislative activity of the parliament and think that we must vote for the laws that are being discussed thoroughly and completely, which have no gaps and disputable sides that should be referred to afterwards,” Zohrabyan said, adding that their faction will vote against it.
Other lawmaker of the faction Mikael Melkumyan noted that the content of the law shows that it has no future.
