Gathered facts enough to charge Davit Sanasaryan: Attorney General
Armenia’s Attorney General Artur Davtyan stated in Tsitsernakaberd today that the criminal case of former head of the State Control Service Davit Sanasaryan will be examined objectively.
“You should not doubt even for a second that full, objective, multisided investigation will be conducted,” he said, adding that all the gathered materials were enough for bringing charges against Sanasaryan.
He said after charges were brought Sanasaryan received status of defendant.
The attorney general said that Sanasaryan may be defended and present his arguments.
“Let no one doubt that complete, objective investigation will be conducted and all the arguments be checked,” the official said.
Referring to the petition of the defendants about moving the case from NSS to Special Investigation Service, Davtyan said that this petition has just been received.
“The petition possesses information which is yet to be checked,” he said.
As to whether the case is being tied on Sanasaryan, as defendants claim, the attorney general stressed that from the moment the examining prosecutor receives such information or sees such a risk he will quit the investigation.
Sanasaryan is charged with the abuse of power.
