Neither of Armenian governments criticized the USA as much as I do: Armenia’s PM
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan spoke about Armenian-American relations after Armenia deployed humanitarian mission in Syria, in an interview to Russian Nezavisimaya Gazeta paper.
“Neither of Armenian governments have been as much toughly criticized for sending humanitarian mission to Syria by Washington as the incumbent government. How will you correct the relations with the United States?” paper’s reporter Yuri Simonyan asked.
“There is also an opposite. Neither of Armenia’s governments has criticized the USA as much as I did. It is very important for us to preserve our independence and sovereignty,” the PM stated.
He stressed that Armenia cannot exist without regional and international relations.
“We are always open for discussions, regarding deployment of humanitarian mission in Syria as well. We are ready to answer to all their questions. We think that we have made a right decision. On April 24 we have marked another anniversary of the Armenian genocide. If Armenian sappers demine a small territory for the children’s ground whose grandparents saved life of even one Armenian and in Aleppo there are many such people, our mission is justified. If Armenian doctors save one Syrian whose ancestors saved an Armenian during the genocide, our mission is justified. While it has already been done: our doctors in Syria have carried out over 100 surgeries in Syria,” Pashinyan noted.
