Armenian women have big potential in business sector due to their talent and determination: U.S. Ambassador

Armenian women have big potential in the business sector thanks to their talent and determination, U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy said at the Women Entrepreneurship  International Conference today.

“They manage to have their contribution to business, to organization of community works, they manage to help their families. Women’s participation in business may ensure economic progress. If a woman fails to bring into life her business initiative, the economy may suffer much from it,” the U.S. diplomat said.

The ambassador said that in 104 countries of the world women are not allowed to participate in some initiatives as a result millions of women are deprived of right to start business activity.

UK and Northern Ireland Ambassador to Armenia Judith Margaret Farnworth said in conditions of involvement of women business projects are being brought to life more effectively.

“It is impossible to prosper unless the society’s whole potential is revealed. Today there is a political will to involve women in the economy, but their full potential is not being used. Only successful women may have self-confidence,” she said.
