Relations with Russia of prior significance for Armenia: Vigen Hakobyan
In conditions of lack of information it is difficult to say what outcome the Yerevan session of the Eurasian inter-governmental council will have but it is clear that the new authorities are starting treating our strategic ally – Russia – more calmly, political technologist Vigen Hakobyan told Aysor.am.
He stressed that at any occasion the significance of the relations with Russia is being stressed.
“The relations with Russia are becoming more balanced,” he said.
He said hosting the Russian premier at his house, passing time with him at club show that Armenia gives special importance to Russia and hopes to have similar reciprocal attitude.
“In any case there are some formal moments, which show the level of relations. I think Armenia is trying to preserve the level of both personal and official relations. As to the decisions made at the EAEU intergovernmental council’s session, the time will show their relation to the real life. The practice has shown that not always the decisions were brought into life,” Hakobyan said.
The political technologist stressed that relations with Russia are of priority for Armenia in case when the relation with the EAEU are amorphous.
He said for Armenia the Russian market, Russia’s proposals are of greater significance. As to the other EAEU member states, he said the relations with them are far from being allied.
