Bright Armenia faction demands rejection of assessments PM voiced about bill submitted by faction
Head of the Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan demands from Armenia’s prime minister Nikol Pashinyan rejection of the statements made at the cabinet sitting over the bill submitted by their faction.
In particular, Bright Armenia has offered a bill of amendments to the law About Purchases which envisages declassifying the procedural and other expenses of officials. In short, the opposition faction demands making public the expenses made by the head of the government, NA speaker and other officials.
The government though did not approve the bill, considering that the transparency of such information will harm the state security and it should be secret.
“You mean, it is necessary to place the schedule of the republic’s high-ranking officials on web, outline their route, inform what type of arms their security guards are armed with, how many security cars accompany them, which weapon shots better, which not and attach consultation on how properly organize a terrorist act against the high-ranking officials. I think we have already chosen the path of transparency and if there is such a necessity we will come up with the initiative on our own,” the head of the government said, explaining the rejection of the bill.
Speaking to Aysor.am, Edmon Marukyan claimed that Pashinyan has distorted the essence of the bill, presenting it in another way. He said they are demanding public rejection from the head of the government.
“I am much offended not from the rejection of the bill, but by the circumstance on how the prime minister distorted the essence of the bill. We have presented a bill backed by Pashinyan when he was a lawmaker,” Marukyan said.
He stressed that the people learnt from the speech of the PM shown on TV that Bright Armenia helps terrorist organizations to organize a terrorist act against leaders of the country.
“Was it a right thing to say by number one official of the country? It is a shame. It was shown on TV. I receive calls, messages, people think we have really authored such bill,” Marukyan stressed.
