Head of NSS Investigative department claims they are guided exclusively by law
National Security Service is investigative body and its head is to be informed about the process of preliminary investigation of the criminal case, the acquired proofs, head of the NSS Investigative Department Artur Aghajanyan said in an interview to Public TV asked whether the statements of the State Control Service chairman Davit Sanasaryan (authorities suspended) that the NSS chief is exerting pressure by stating that the case will reach the court are grounded.
“By stating that the criminal case will go to court and everything will be clarified, the NSS chief has just presented the simple legal approach that if there is a criminal case and four people are charged in its sidelines, it is supposed that the case will reach the court. It does not mean that Mr Vanetsyan has predicted the outcome of the case,” Aghajanyan said.
Moreover, the NSS official said that their chief understands very well that the accusation in the sidelines of the criminal case is being confirmed by supervising prosecutor.
Aghajanyan described Davit Sanasaryan’s and his lawyers statement that the criminal case is made up as nonsense. He stressed that high-quality professionals are working in the NSS investigative department who are being guided by laws and the Constitution.
