iPhone, iPad and Mac charging devices are being recalled in Australia over fears they can give people electric shocks
Apple has recalled some of their charging devices for iPhone, iPad and Mac products over fears they are dangerous.
Product Safety Australia confirmed Apple is voluntarily recalling three-prong AC wall plug adapters sold between 2003 and 2015.
The chargers are compatible with charging ports in the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong and allow Mac and iOS device chargers to be modified for use internationally.
Apple confirmed the adapters break in 'very rare cases' and expose internal electrical components.
When exposed, the products risk giving consumers an electric shock.
'Customer safety is always Apple's top priority,' a statement from the company read.
The affected three-prong AC wall plug adapters are white, with no letters in the inside slot where it attaches to an Apple power adapter, the ACCC reported.
'New plug adapters are white with grey on the inside portion where it attaches to the power adapter and are not affected by this issue,' they said.
Consumers are able to replace their current adapters by taking them into their closest Apple store or contacting Apple Support to receive a replacement by mail.
