Peacekeeping calls voiced from Azerbaijan not trustworthy: Davit Babayan

We do not believe in peacekeeping calls voiced from Azerbaijan as the time has not proved their truthfulness, spokesperson for Artsakh President Davit Babayan told Aysor.am. referring to the call of the ex Azerbaijani health minister Ali Insanov addressed to Baku to refrain from bellicose rhetoric and undertake practical steps for fining edges for reconciliation.

“Various such calls have been voiced. But if they remain only on the level of calls, it speaks only of their cynicism. If Azerbaijan really wants peaceful settlement of the conflict it is both easy and difficult at the same time. They must find strength to recognize Artsakh Republic without any pre-conditions. After it, the issue will be easily settled,” Babayan said.

The spokesperson said that some members of Azerbaijani society make such peacekeeping calls to divert the attention of international and Azerbaijani communities.

“How Azerbaijan may voice peacekeeping statements if they make hero of an assassin Safarov, if they want to release Azerbaijani terrorists and murderers jailed in Shushi. So, their peacekeeping calls are illogical,” Babayan said.
