No meeting between leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijani scheduled in Brussels: Armenia’s FM
We have government and the government has the mandate given by the people, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan told the reporters today, referring to PM’s statement that people are to decide Karabakh’s fate.
“The government cannot do anything which will violate the mandate,” he said.
Mnatsakanyan noted that the government has its responsibility to negotiate and find peaceful way for conflict settlement.
The minister said that there were situations when a process is ongoing which may be unknown to the people.
“How can it be in case when our government reflects people’s will and has assumed the responsibility on such grounds?” Mnatsakanyan said.
Asked about the premier’s upcoming visit to Brussels and whether a meeting with Azerbaijani president is expected, the minister said no meeting is planned.
“If they are in the same place, they will see each other, but nothing is scheduled,” the minister said.
