The request of Artsakh’s presidents should have been satisfied: Vitaly Balasanyan on application to change Kocharyan’ preventive measure
Artsakh Security Council Secretary Vitaly Balasanyan thinks that corresponding bodies should have respected the application of Artsakh’s incumbent and former presidents Bako Sahakyan and Arkady Ghukasyan on changing the preventive measure of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan.
“They should have respected the application of Artsakh’s incumbent and former presidents and made corresponding decision a minute earlier. Their application did not relate to the suspension of the criminal case or quitting the criminal persecution. Their application referred to the participation of all the presidents in the holiday,” Balasanyan told the reporters today.
To the comment that Artsakh authorities are interfering into Armenia’s domestic affairs, Balasanyan said, “We have told in time that we have two Armenian states but one homeland. What are you talking about?”
In the letter addressed to Armenia’s Attorney General Artur Davtyan, the two presidents said in particular, “Taking into consideration the fact that the first President of the Artsakh Republic Robert Kocharyan is detained, we ask you to make a relevant decision on changing his preventive measure ahead of May the 9th.
We are ready to provide any public guarantee that is necessary for him be released from the detention and remain in freedom throughout the whole trial.”
In response the Attorney General said that as far as the criminal case has already been sent to the court the matter is not in their authorities.
