Prosecutor’s office to express its position over Kocharyan’s preventive measure and letter of Artsakh presidents at court hearing
The lawyers of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan will submit the letter of Artsakh’s incumbent president Bako Sahakyan and second president Arkady Ghoukasyan at the next court hearing.
Speaking about it Attorney General Artur Davtyan said that in that phase, the prosecutor’s office will express its position as a side.
“If I am not mistaken the hearing is set for May 13. The prosecutor will be present on that day and will express positions,” Davtyan said.
As to whether he still finds that grounds exist for keeping Armenia’s second president under arrest if to consider that the preliminary examination is over, the attorney general said, “Our authority to refer to the grounds for keeping Robert Kocharyan under arrest ended on April 29 when we sent the case to the court. We did not change the arrest as preventive measure which means that we still are of the same opinion. In the upcoming phases we are not the ones to decide but the ones who express their position.”
