Armenia’s deputy agriculture minister describes sector “much undeveloped”
Armenia’s agriculture is “much undeveloped” Armenia’s deputy minister of agriculture Artak Kamalyan stated at My Step for Gegharkunik region business conference today.
“In Armenia we have a much undeveloped agriculture and we are about 50-40 years back from the best agricultural countries of the world,” Kamalyan said.
He stressed that if in Armenia the tomato harvest was eaten by moth last year, U.S. California University has created a combine which gathers strawberry harvest without human’s interference.
“We clearly understand what we should do, when and how we should act to enter 21st century at least in 7 years. I do not say that we will reach that countries because they will not stand on the achieved, but we will reduce the level of our 50-year backwardness and make it 10. We have the program and we need people to implement it, without people it is impossible to do it,” the deputy minister said.
