Kocharyan’s defense team motions to invite chairman of Supreme Judicial Council Gagik Harutyunyan to testify in court

The defense team of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan has submitted a list of witnesses to be invited to court in the margins of March 1 criminal case hearing, attorney Hayk Alumyan told the reporters today.

He said the name of first president Levon Ter-Petrosyan is not in the list but if a situation changes in the judicial procedure he will be invited to testify in the court too.

As to the accusation side, they have presented names of over 800 people who will testify in the court. The first and third presidents are among them.

“As of now the accusing prosecutors submitted a list of 800 people. We, if I am not mistaken, presented list of 10,” Alumyan said.

Alumyan said among them will be judges of Constitutional Court, businessman Samvel Mayrapetyan and Mikael Harutynyan.

The lawyer explained that the judges of CC are invited to clarify the accusation as if pressures was executed against CC judge. “It is not clarified how this pressure was executed, on which judge,” he said.

The lawyer said that they have invited former CC judge, chairman of Supreme Judicial Council Gagik Harutynyan.
