Extract on involvement of close people in developments aims at injecting poison to people’s minds: Kocharyan
Hayk Alumyan, lawyer of Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan, stated today at court that the accusation includes an extract which says, “To keep the power and to pressure the political developments close circles of Robert Kocharyan have been involved.”
Alumyan stressed that the name of neither of the involved persons is mentioned and it is neither noted whether the responsibility for their activities lays on Kocharyan.
“The accusation does not say whether Mr Kocharyan had any relation to the people, whether he ordered or he knew but did not interfere. Why Mr Kocharyan must bear responsibility for their actions?” Alumyan stated.
The second president too referred to the “certain people” phrase, adding that there is no information about them and no actions were undertaken against them.
“I can only make suppositions why such extract has found place in the accusation. It is done to convince people that these murders were committed by close people. This is done to inject poison to the minds of the people. There is no grounding in this accusation. Three people were killed by Cheryemukha and the other seven were killed in unknown circumstances, and now they are trying to give such grounding,” Kocharyan stated.
