Next meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani MFA expected in Washington

Certain clarifications are necessary for the conduction of next meeting of Armenian and Azerbaijani MFA, Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan told the reporters.

“Wait a little more. You know that we are waiting for some clarifications for the next phase, for the meeting, and the hosting side must tell us the details for us to be able to agree with the term. Principally we have no issues,” he said.

Asked whether it is already clear that Washington will be the hosting country, the minister said, “It is expected so. But it will be wrong to say anything now. I repeat, it is not right to say anything earlier than the hosting side.”

To the comment that Azerbaijani foreign minister Mammadyarov again claimed that they are principally against for Stepanakert’s return to the table of negotiations as, like he says, Armenian authorities come and present what they are negotiating, Mnatsakanyan said, the Armenian side is principally for it.

“We have many times related to the issue, this is a strictly practical issue as if Artsakh is not given an opportunity to be the owner of the process, the efficiency of this process seriously suffers. Our approach is very practical and logical,” he said.
