Video materials relating to March 1 developments missing: Kocharyan said important materials not attached to case

Armenia’s second president Robert Kocharyan speaking at the court said that a number of video materials from March 1, 2008 events miss today.

He stressed the videos were shown to him by Gorik Hakobyan, deceased NSS chief, on March 7-8.

“While the investigative body previously categorically rejected the existence of such videos,” he said adding that he asked Gorik Hakobyan to show the videos before the meeting with reporters to learn the real situation and give corresponding answers to the questions.

He said Gorik Hakobyan told him that the videos show how the arms were applied, how a person shot in the direction of soldiers.

“Afterwards when criticism started and it was claimed that such thing did not happen, I asked Gorik Hakobyan to bring the videos and we watched them. Now these videos do not exist, I do not know where are they,” he said, expressing conviction that the criminal case lacks a number of important materials.

Prosecutor Gevorg Baghdasaryan said there is no opportunity to compare the existing videos in this judicial phase. He said it will be done later.
