Around 1,100 Yerevan-based parents of servicemen departed to visit their sons serving in bordering military units
Around 1,100 Yerevan-based parents of servicemen had another opportunity to visit their sons serving in bordering military units at the joint initiative of Yerevan Municipality and Armenia’s Defense Ministry.
Yerevan mayor Hayk Marutyan and Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan spoke with the parents and wished them safe travel.
Marutyan convinced that the traditional, important and succeeded initiative will be of continuous nature.
“It is a very good tradition established few years ago and must continue now and in future as well irrespective of who the mayor will be. This is the program that cannot be stopped. This is the smallest thing we can do for our soldiers and their parents,” Marutyan said.
Minister Tonoyan, in his turn, attached great significance to the program, adding that it gives a peculiar strength and trust to the homeland protectors.
“This program reinforces the ties between parents and servicemen. The moral psychological condition of soldiers raises, their mood raises, they understand that they are in the center of attention,” Tonoyan said.
Police cars were accompanying the buses transporting the parents.
