Bright Armenia party urges Armenia’s PM to review his call
Bright Armenia party and its NA faction urge the country’s prime minister to review his call to blockade the entrances to courts.
In the message the party states that this call violates the implementation of justice in Armenia for thousands of people and violates their constitutional rights.
“With this the Republic of Armenia violates the human rights set in international agreements it has ratified itself and loses the whole potential of building legal state gathered after the revolution,” the party said in the statement.
“The executive power, on behalf of the prime minister, had a year of time and has now too an opportunity to clean the judicial system from law violating judges and had all practical levers to raise the efficiency of the judicial power which though has not been done by now. We urge Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to review his call and refrain from intention to close the entrances to courts for the citizens to be able to defend and implement their constitutional rights,” the party stated.
Bright Armenia also urged the NA speaker to convene extraordinary session to discuss the existing situation.
“At the same time we reaffirm our readiness to assist in the institutional reforms of the judicial system for having completely independent system that will enjoy people’s trust,” the statement concluded.
