Exclusively all judges must be subjected to vetting: Nikol Pashinyan
The time has come for making surgical interferences in the judicial system, Armenia’s prime minister Nikol Pashinyan stated today.
The PM stated that in Armenia all the judges, without any exceptions must be subjected to vetting.
"Hence the people must have information about the political ties of judges, their property, about their former activity, individual and professional features," the head of the government stated.
He said all the judges who authored the verdicts disputed in the European Court of Human Rights and backed must file resignation, leave or be fired.
Pashinyan stressed that all the judges who know that they cannot be unbiased and objective in their work must resign.
“Now the application of the mechanisms of transitional justice become of vital significance for Armenia and in 1-2 months we must sum up our works made in that direction for 7-8 months,” the premier stressed.
