President of Supreme Judicial Council agrees to visit NA Human Rights and Public Affairs Standing Committee to answer lawmakers’ questions

The president of Supreme Judicial Council Gagik Harutyunyan has not rejected the invitation of the Human Rights and Public Affairs Standing Committee to visit the NA and answer the questions of the lawmakers.

Chairperson of the committee Naira Zohrabyan said that proposal to invite the SJC president was made by lawmaker Taguhi Tovmasyan agreed with the recent developments over judicial power.

In the written response Harutyunyan noted that he is not authorized to answer the questions over the cases which are at the trial phase as well as the questions outside of circle of his authorities.

The SJC president said he would not mind to answer to the rest questions and may visit the Committee and answer the questions of lawmakers.

Zohrabyan said additional information about the date of the meeting will be agreed and reported later.
