I cannot imagine Implementation of “conspiracy” even theoretically: Artsakh president advisor
Different divisions of Azerbaijani Armed Forces are carrying out wide-scale operative-strategic drills from May 20-24.
It has been stated officially that the drills will engage around 10,000 servicemen, 150 units of tanks and other military technology and 35 units of jets and helicopters.
Aysor.am has contacted with Artsakh president advisor Tigran Abrahamyan to ask few questions about the possible dangers and issues.
- Mr Abrahamyan, topics about Artsakh have recently intensified being of different nature, of different sharpness. But let’s speak about the military drills in Azerbaijan. What dangers do you see? Do the people need to worry?
- This is the second such wide-scale military drill by Azerbaijan conducted during this year. Before this, such like drills were conducted in March. In parallel to this, other drills were conducted of smaller scale in collaboration with other countries. There were different military gatherings and strategic exercises as well.
Of course, conduction of such events on the front line brings new tension, especially if being conducted in the sectors near the line of contact, in any case they are under our control.
- An impression is as if the Armenian side conducts less military drills…
- I would not say so. My position demands permanent direct contacts with the Armed Forces and I can say for sure that there is an active training period in the Defense Army being accompanied with different drills, strategic trainings, special courses.
- Recently the Armenian Prime Minister spoke about possible actions of “conspirator forces”, can we expect such a thing?
- I have noticed that recently Defense Minister Davit Tonoyan referred to the issue, excluding such situation, secondly, such actions suppose a long chain consisting from different forces to military ones. Even if there are forces having such goals and in my idea these may be only forces from outside, their agents on place, I do not even theoretically imagine the implementation of “conspiracies”.
Such “conspiracy” demands involvement of political authorities, armed forces, force structures, which is of course excluded. In Artsakh all these structures, institutions are serving our people properly in a dignified way and even if forces having hostile attitude toward us have such intention, it will be prevented in the very early stage.
Of course I see forces, individuals the activity of which is obviously dangerous and their theses, mildly speaking, fit the propaganda concepts of not-friendly countries.
I see people sowing hostility, false agenda among people, but I think that rationality will win and in the existing situation these dangerous tendencies will be neutralized or at least be brought to minimum.
