Irish minister criticizes UEFA for failing to ensure Mkhitaryan’s participation in Euro League final
Ireland’s Minister for Justice and Equality Charlie Flanagan criticized the UEFA for the failure to ensure participation of Armenian midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan in the Arsenal vs Chelsea final of European League in Baku.
“Very sad when sport and politics collide as Henrikh Mkhitaryan decided against travelling to Azerbaijan for Euro League final citing safety fears. UEFA must do more to allay fears and ensure protection in these circumstances,” the minister wrote on Twitter.
