Armenia’s FM meets CSTO secretary general candidate Stanislav Zas
Armenia’s Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan received on May 27 Belarus Security Council state Secretary Stanislav Zas, who will assumed the post of the CSTO secretary general from January 1, 2020 with the decision adopted at the ministerial council in Bishkek.
He will assume the post till December 31, 2022.
Armenia’s MFA press service reports that during the meeting Mnatsakanyan stressed the important role of the establishment in Armenia’s security system.
Referring to Armenia’s priorities in the sidelines of the CSTO, Armenia’s FM stressed the importance of continuous rise of efficiency of the organization through close cooperation among its member states.
Armenia’s FM stressed that with the results of the Bishkek gathering it became possible to come to consent over the candidate for the post and the term of assuming the post.
Mnatsakanyan stressed that within the framework of his authorities the secretary general of the establishment must be guided with fundamental documents, common interests of member states.
The candidate thanked the Armenian minister for supporting his candidacy and convinced that after being appointed in the post he will come up from the position of defending security interests of all the CSTO member states.
