Bill on vetting almost ready: My Step faction head

The bill on instituting vetting in Armenia is almost ready and will soon be presented for public discussion, head of the My Step faction Lilit Makunts stated at the NA today.

“The process of working out the bill started months ago and as of now it is in the phase of finalization. This is why I address to our colleagues from Bright Armenia and Prosperous Armenia factions to present proposals and concerns in a written form in a one-week time,” Makunts stated.

Head of Bright Armenia faction Edmon Marukyan stressed that he is rather surprised to hear that the work on it started months ago.

“First, I want to say that if you have started working on it months ago, and we are not aware of it is already a bad precedent. I know that months ago no talks about vetting were held but only about transitional justice. Now it is necessary to create a group and work on it but not work on a bill and then ask proposals from us. What proposals do you expect if we do not even know what you have already fixed?” Marukyan stressed.
