Employees of North-South close road, demand their salaries

Employees of North-South highway have closed the road to Ujan community demanding the salaries they have not been paid for months.

The 19 sub-contractor organizations claim they have not received salaries from August 2018.

“We worked till November, they promised to pay the money. We have applied to all – to the PM, deputy PM, minister of transport, the organization. No one has given a complete answer till now. Who must pay us? The Spanish organization says the government is to pay us for us to give you your money, the government says it has no sum to pay. No one comes to talk to clarify the situation and understand who is to pay,” the employees claim.
According to them, the debt reached over 2 billion AMD.

The participants of the action expect to see the minister and vice prime minister Tigran Avinyan.

“They have come to power by closing the road, now neither of them comes to listen to our issues,” they said, adding that they will periodically conduct protest actions until their issue is solved.
