Armenia’s judicial system does not enjoy people’s trust: Pashinyan
I cannot give legal assessments to any situation but we may register that everything passes normally, with everyone’s rights being protected, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan told the reporters today, referring to Robert Kocharyan’s case.
He stressed that the rest of the issues must be given with corresponding procedures.
“I have already given my assessment to the judicial system. I have stated that I cannot assess the lawfulness or illegality of decision of any of the judicial instances. It is not in my authority but it is a fact that Armenia’s judicial system does not enjoy the trust of the people. The judicial power in Armenia does not stem from the people and has issue of legitimacy. Consequently, we need such a system the decisions of which will not be discussed by either prime minister, or the opposition and citizens,” the head of the executive power stated.
