5,2% economic growth registered in 2018 against predicted 4,5%: Armenia’s PM
The issue of the new authorities formed in May 2018 was macro-economic stability which was maintained, Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said at the budget discussion in the NA today.
“It is impossible to find case in the world history when after such wide scale changes in the country the economic system remains stable,” Pashinyan said.
He stressed that the macro-economic stability maintained due to existence of some established institutions which had their role in the revolution phase and with the velvet nature of the revolution in Armenia.
Speaking about economic growth Pashinyan noted that it is higher than predicted.
“In 2018 5,2% economic growth has been registered while the 2018 draft budget registered 4,5%. In conditions of global downs and ups it has been succeeded to exceed the plan,” the PM stressed.
He also noted that in 2018 low price growth background has been registered and it was possible to restrict the price growth and have deflation in a year.
“The 2018 state budget has been implemented, the government has implemented all the commitments,” Pashinyan stressed.
