NSS chief initiates founding training center for NSS serviceman, applies to finance minister for funding
Armenian National Security Service employees are being sent to other countries for training on which 240 million AMD is being spent annually, NSS director Artur Vanetsyan said at the NA, adding that instead they may stay in Armenia for training in case the NSS has corresponding training center.
“In 2018 the NSS spent around 240 million AMD which is a rather big sum that we have to spend in other countries,” Vanetsyan said.
He said he has initiated and already in 2020 will try to undertake practical steps to create training center for the NSS servicemen.
“It does not matter whether the structure we will be called training center, academy, university or institute, we will think about it later,” Vanetsyan said, noting that they have already made some calculations in this regard.
“If we manage to have a modern university we must spend 2 billion AMD on infrastructures only. But if to compare the sum with the annually spent 240 million AMD on trainings abroad, I think this 2 billion is not a big sum. Besides we will have better prepared servicemen, will avoid any possible risks that may come during training abroad,” the NSS director said.
Addressing to finance minister Atom Janjughazyan, Artur Vanetsyan said, “Mr Janjughazyan, provide us 2 billion AMD to build our training center.”
