Armenia viewed important tying circle between Iran and EAEU: expert

The ratification of Iran-EAEU free trade agreement is extremely important and positive especially if to take into consideration that Armenia had a serious role in its creation, expert in Iranian affairs Vardan Voskanyan told Aysor.am, adding that the ratification and implementation of agreement by Iran stems from Armenia’s interests.

Asked when EAEU-Iran agreement’s results may be seen, the expert said it depends on the actions of the parties.

“In Iran the attitude toward EAEU is obviously positive, and it is important that Armenia is viewed as an important tying circle between Iran and the EAEU. Our state is being granted an exclusive status and we must work correspondingly,” the expert said.

At the same time the expert voiced hope that the free trade agreement will allow operation of Meghri free economic zone.

“We have such zone, but unfortunately it does not work. While the new opportunities provided by this agreement open door for its operation,” Voskanyan said.

Iran has ratified free trade agreement with EAEU.
