All will be done to reveal circumstances of March 1 murders: SIS chief
Works for revealing murders of March 1, 2008 continue intensively and I cannot tell what arrests will follow in future, head of Special Investigation Service Sasun Khachatryan told the reporters at the National Assembly today.
Asked whether the arrested former high-ranking police official Gegham Petrosyan admits his guilt, Khachatryan said that Petrosyan does not give testimonies as of the moment.
The former police official is charged with the murder of protestor Zakar Hovhannisyan.
SIS head said the establishment had all the grounds to bring charges against Petrosyan.
Asked whether the gathered proofs include the weapon, Khachatryan said he will not respond to the question adding that there is a clear combination of proofs.
As to the army’s engagement in the March 1 2008 developments according to the testimonies, Sasun Khachatryan said he would not speak about the content of testimonies but added that the victims, their successors of the killed voiced about it.
He said there are some difficulties with the case as ten years have passed and “many evidences were falsified.”
“But I am optimistic, our whole service is optimistic. We will do everything to reveal all the circumstances of the murders,” Sasun Khachatryan said.
