Russia’s embassy receives no official information regarding Armenian ex-official Mihran Poghosyan: ambassador
Russia’s embassy in Armenia has not received information about granting ex Armenian official Mihran Poghosyan a temporary asylum, Russia’s ambassador to Armenia Sergey Kopirkin said at a press conference on Tuesday.
“The embassy has not received official information regarding Poghosyan,” the ambassador said, adding that for commenting on the issue he must base on media publications which he would not like to.
Earlier media reported that Russia has granted temporary asylum to Armenian ex official Mihran Poghosyan who is charged in Armenia for abuse of power, big amount of embezzlement causing great harm to the state.
The Special Investigation Service declared about his search on April 15 and on April 19 in the evening Poghosyan was arrested in Russia’s Karelia.
