Azerbaijani armed forces violate ceasefire regime with usage of long-range and sniper weapons: Artsakh Defense Ministry
Azerbaijani mass media citing their Defense Ministry reported as if the Armenian divisions violated ceasefire regime in different directions of the line of contact using different types of weaponry including 60mm mortars, Artsakh Defense Ministry press service reported.
“Artsakh Republic Defense Ministry not only rejects the disinformation but also informs that on June 11 and at the night of June 12 the Azerbaijani side used different diameter long-range and sniper weapons, as well as HAN-17 grenades,” the ministry’s statement runs.
According to the statement, the adversary has increased the number of UAVs on the line of contact which very often violate the set flight zone.
The Artsakh Defense Ministry reported that the flights of Azerbaijani aerial forces are under strict control of the Artsakh anti-air defense means and the border postguards are well-aware of the operative-strategic situation on the line of contact.
The ministry also urged Azerbaijan to refrain from provocative actions aimed at artificially escalating the situation and stay committed to the arrangements over protection of ceasefire reached with the mediation of the OSCE Minsk Group.
“In the opposite case, the responsibility for the escalation of the situation and its consequences will fall on official Baku,” the statement concluded.
